Inspired by traditional Cameroonian garments, West African fabric and New York’s vibrant fashion scene Kibonen delved into a brand new label which better actualizes her vision as an African designer. Over seven years ago she busted into the fashion scene with the never before seen ingenious idea of contemporizing one of the most delicate and intricate hand woven traditional garments of Cameroon western highlands region, the toghu.

Each collection piece recreates the essence of this beautiful creature in both shape and boldness, ebbing with vivacity and energy, and creating art in symmetry and texture. Combined with a passion for freedom, Honey Malaolu create clothes that come alive with expression and identity.

After undertaking her Fashion and Textiles BA Degree, Head Designer Honey was driven to create a brand that would enhance the great beauty of a woman’s figure by combining innovative shapes and exciting prints. Honey Malaolu clothing have been in great interest from Team GB athletes like Christine Ohuruogu and other celebrities which love the uniqueness of the brand silhouettes and soft textured fabrics.

Honey Malaolu is an ecologically aware company and we are dedicated to using environmentally-friendly techniques in our production processes. Our entire collection is created locally in London as we prefer to keep our carbon footprint to a minimum.
